God requires a total life-devotion and life-service that is the inevitable accompaniment of True Love: not for the service itself, for our greatest possible service is nothing before Him, but because He requires a depth of love that cannot be contained and content in anything less than total devotion and service. This is what made David a "man after God's own heart." He sinned at times, and was necessarily severely punished, for his own good, and to sanctify God's inexorable holiness. But the Psalms reveal the depth of love and devotion, and deep remorse for sin.

The only happiness, peace and satisfaction is doing our most and best in God's sight.
