April 9th -- Philippians 3 GLORIOUS BODIES |
||||||||||||||
THE bodies of those who are found faithful at his judgment seat, whether they are dead or living at his appearing, will be fashioned like unto the body of his glory by the working of that energy whereby he will be able to subdue all things to himself. He will change these mortal bodies: this mortal must put on immortality. The suffering and the trial of the present are real enough: but when the saints "receive in body according to that they have done", those who have striven to enter the Kingdom will know in body the greater realities of an energy drawn from the source of all power. "They shall run and not be weary; walk and not faint", because they are one in nature with Him who faints not, neither is weary. The place of trial will be the place of reward. The twelve will be with Jesus, known of the twelve tribes as David and Solomon were known in the past. The saints over five or over ten cities will be no less real than the mayors and lord mayors of today. JOHN CARTER, The Gospel of John, page 223
