February 21st -- 1 Corinthians 3 MEETING OUR RESPONSIBILITIES |
||||||||||||||
ONCE we have been "resurrected" to the new life we accept its obligations and responsibilities as well as its glories; we begin a regime of self-discipline and transformation of character that will, in time, make us servants more obedient to the will of our Father. Even Jesus "learned obedience by the things which he suffered". Woe betide us if we become neglectful in meeting our responsibilities, for through baptism we become "the temple of God" . . . and "If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are" (1 Corinthians 3:16-17).
