August 10th -- Jeremiah 31 Upon This I Awaked |
||||||||||||||
"Upon this I awaked and beheld, and my sleep was sweet unto me." In the new creation of Jesus' day of resurrection from the dead he awoke and beheld. Healed of his sacrificial wounds, he awoke to find ... a "Bride" elect being prepared for the "marriage of the Lamb", for which we are still waiting (Rev. 19). When that great and terrible day comes, Jeremiah will awake and behold, for "Many that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life" (Daniel 12:2). Then Daniel will "stand in his lot," and we with him, if, to the best of our poor faith and ability, we endeavour to manifest the wisdom and obedience of that "greatly beloved" man of God. C.C.
