SO "When a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him" (Proverbs 16:7). But this does not mean, as a prominent brother once absurdly put it, that a good man should have no enemies (Look at Christ!) but that God can turn a hangman into a friend and benefactor when His purpose requires it.
