RUSSIA -- PROPHECY/NEWS

The Will of Peter The Great,
Emperor of Russia, 1672-1725

...The All-Powerful, from whom we hold our life and our throne, after having revealed unto us his wishes and intentions, and after being our support, permits us to look upon Russia as called upon to establish her rule over all Europe...From this it results that they can be easily conquered by a new race of people, when it has attained full power and strength. We look upon our invasion of the West and the East as a decree of Divine Providence, which has already once regenerated the Roman empire by an invasion of barbarians...

Russia Proposes Defense Shield With Europe
Urges Neighboring States To Join EU in "Combined Anti-Missile System"
June 21, 2000
Such a "combined" system would effectively separate the United States from its traditional European allies, and achieve one of Soviet Russia's primary goals -- the political and military isolation of the U.S.

Russia's Long Range Vision June 19, 2000
Putin ... speaks fluent German; and winning over Germany is the key to breaking up NATO ... Putin visited Germany last week. He met privately with the German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder at least four times. Not even a translator was present. These one-on-one sessions were so intimate that they aroused the amazement of the German press ... Germany is the heart of Europe. To win the heart is to win the whole. That is what the Russians are trying to achieve. That is the next step in Russia's long-range plan.

Putin Says Pan-Europe ABM System Possible June 15, 2000
Russian President Vladimir Putin outlined a vision Thursday of a pan-European defense shield against incoming missiles and insisted that, despite U.S. doubts, his plan was technologically possible.

Inside Russia's Magic Mountain: SUPER-SECRET NUCLEAR WAR-FIGHTING COMMAND CENTER WITHIN RUSSIA'S YAMANTAU MOUNTAIN June 6, 2000
Russia may be conducting nuclear deception on a far vaster scale beneath Yamantau Mountain, where it has dug out a gigantic underground military complex designed to withstand a sustained nuclear assault. U.S. intelligence sources tell WorldNetDaily that the Yamantau complex is but one of some 200 secret deep underground nuclear war-fighting sites in Russia, many of which have been significantly upgraded over the past six years at a cost of billions of dollars.

Remember Afghanistan? Moscow Does June 5, 2000
Vladimir Zhirinovksy, the head of Russia's Liberal Democratic Party, made a curious comment in December 1993. He said, "If in Afghanistan we had used the tsar's flags instead of the red flag, we would have won."

Putin Looks To Vatican For Help June 5, 2000
Putin described his mission of enlisting Vatican help in "the process of integration between East and West."

Who Was Behind The Bolshevik Revolution? May 18, 2000
The anti-communist movement in America has long been afflicted by an historical misunderstanding which persists today. There is a widespread teaching about communism and its origins which is false. The 20th century version of this teaching originated with Russian anti-Semites. Relying on false documents and a conspiratorial hypothesis, these anti-Semites blamed Jews and Freemasons for a wide-ranging global conspiracy to destroy Christianity and create a world government. One of the key historical facts alleged by these Russian anti-Semites has to do with the origins of the Bolshevik Revolution.

The Trogan Horse May 15, 2000
To avoid the fate of Troy, a leader must always be wary and vigilant. He must never trust an easy victory. He must treat peace offerings with extreme caution; for things are not always what they seem. Defeat can be a pretense. Collapse can be a disguise. Withdrawal can be a maneuver.

Russia Darkening Into A Tragic Phase? May 8, 2000
The collapse of Communism in Eastern Europe was conceived beforehand by planners in Moscow. It was part of a grand strategy. And Putin had a leading role in preparing that strategy.

Marching To Putin's Drum March 30, 2000
He knows that Britain and Germany, even more than France, are critical gateways to success if Russia is to break NATO into fragments and replace it with a Europe that stretches "from the Atlantic to the Urals" -- a Europe dominated by Moscow.

Mongols, Maginot And Strategic Defense March 16, 2000
There are no invincible countries, no foolproof defenses and no impregnable fortifications. Those who passively wait to be attacked are vulnerable. But those who plan an attack, who use maneuver and strategy rather than relying on a fixed line of defense, often prevail.

Update On The Threat From Russia And China March 2, 2000
Russia is quickly building up its military power. Troop mobilizations, rocket tests, the introduction of revolutionary new weapons, and Russia's continuing augmentation of its strategic metals stockpile tells a story of ongoing war preparations. But now we have another red flag indicator...

Trading With The Enemy Feb. 21, 2000
Imagine if a leading gangster lived across the street from you. Let us say this is a person whose crimes are infamous, who brags about killing people, who says that power comes out of the barrel of a gun. How would you behave toward such a person? Would you go across the street and open a relationship?

Putin Clamps Down On Free Speech Feb. 19, 2000
ONE of them narrowly escaped being sent to an asylum. Another is missing and feared dead in Chechnya. A third is confined to a closed "nuclear" city in Siberia, facing a trial no journalists have been allowed to attend. A fourth asked the Government for an alternative to military service and got two years in jail.

"A Man We Can Do Business With" J.R. Nyquist, Feb. 17, 2000
Perhaps President Clinton should remember what happened in January. Putin's Unity Party, the largest "moderate" faction in the Duma, joined with the Communists to form a new ruling majority. Because of this, Russia's democrats and liberals were defeated. Reform was thwarted and the Soviet economic system, still largely in place, was given yet another lease on life.

Putin To Restart Military Training For School Boys Feb. 13, 2000
"They want to train kids to be Russian patriots and prepare them for war - just like the Nazis did with the Hitler Youth."

Putin Woos Voters With Christian Confession Feb. 12, 2000
"When I was a few months old, my mum and her neighbour in our communal apartment took me to church without telling my father - he was a Communist Party member - and baptised me."

Putin's Empire Begins To Growl Feb. 10, 2000
FROM the northern Pacific coast to the Caucasus and beyond, Moscow's new leadership has embarked on an aggressive foreign policy, which has set it firmly on a collision course with Western interests.

Russia Grasps Its Big Prize of Chechen Oil Feb. 10, 2000
THREE days after raising its flag in Grozny's last rebel stronghold, Russia is claiming the richest prize of the war: Chechnya's potential as a conduit for the vast oil wealth of the Caspian basin.

Revolution And Economic Sabotage Whatever the future holds, recent events point in a sinister direction. The Russians, Chinese and North Koreans have been mobilizing their military forces in recent months. Russian economic measures suggest that Moscow is anticipating some kind of military crisis.

Is The Russian Army Incompetent? How is it possible that a few thousand rebels can overcome the war machine of the Russian Federation? We even have reliable reports that the Russians have been using fuel-air bombs on the rebels. According to the Russian General Staff, fuel-air bombs are weapons of mass destruction, as powerful as small nuclear weapons.

The New Believers (Rise of the Russian Orthodox Church) "All the bishops were carefully picked so that they would work with the soviet government. All were KGB agents. It is well known that Patriarch Alexy was recruited by the KGB, under the code-name of Drozdov. Today, they are preserving the same politics that they had 20 or 30 years ago."

"Russia Must Be Great Again" -- Putin The acting President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has said he wants to rebuild Russia's military might and economic power.

Understanding Russian Strategy Russian strategy, imbued with the idea of reconciling opposites, combines the ideas of Sun Tzu with the ideas of Clausewitz. Just as a man with one leg cannot walk, Russian strategic thinkers believe that a strategy with only one leg is inadequate. Just as left is the opposite of right, the left leg and the right leg work together in harmony for the sake of ambulation. The Russians believe that a "unity of differences" can produce powerful and beneficial results.

Russia's Leader A Soviet Spy Turned Religious Did Vladimir Putin find God, or just a better job? The new Russian interim president was expelled from West Germany as a Soviet espionage agent in the late 1970s, during the heat of the Cold War. Today, the same once-cold-blooded spy is warmly advocating "Christian ideals" in his new Russia.

Putin Says Orthodoxy Good For Russia It is my firm belief as we are entering the third millennium today that its ideals will make it possible to strengthen mutual understanding and consensus in our society and will contribute to the spiritual and moral rebirth of the Fatherland.

Russian Parliamentary Elections These days the most powerful criminal clan in the Russian Federation, "The Family" of Boris Yeltsin, is celebrating another victory over its own country and its own people. Created three months ago by The Family, a new political party, "Yednistvo" (Unity) -- also called "Medved" (the Bear) -- was the coalition leader in the Dec. 19 parliamentary elections. The Unity party has no clear ideology or program beyond its support of the war in Chechnya, whereas the other parties in the coalition, also spawned by The Family, are professed to be centrist. These parties now dominate the Russian political arena.

Yeltsin's Resignation and Putin's Rise Nobody knew what surprises the Y2K changeover would bring. Some commentators thought there would be major disruptions. Others said the disruptions would be minor. As the world turned, as one time zone after another crossed the threshold, no major catastrophes took place. Those responsible for managing the dangers of the changeover, from the Joint Chiefs of Staff to executives of utility companies, were vigilant and responsible in their preparations. The bugs were fixed and the transition to 2000 went smoothly. But there was one surprise. On New Year's Eve Russian President Boris Yeltsin resigned his office.

Blinding The Eye In The Sky If you had planned an opportunistic stroke-of-midnight sneak attack on America, set to coincide with the Y2K changeover, you might have prepared the way by planting a virus in America's early warning computers. The virus itself would have been activated as the clock advanced past midnight, GMT. Because of expected Y2K computer problems, U.S. defense officials would be forced to assume a Y2K-related "glitch."

Russian Espionage, The Mercury Continues To Rise On the last day of November the Russian Federal Security Service ( FSB, Federalynaya Sluzhba Bezopasnosti, the main successor to KGB domestic counterintelligence) accused a US diplomat in Moscow of spying. The FSB, formerly headed by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, said it was going to expel Cheri Leberknight, 33, a deputy secretary at the Moscow embassy's political division, after she was accused of trying to obtain secret military documents from a Russian citizen. This was one more setback in American-Russian relations and a further heightening of tensions over espionage between the former Cold War rivals.

Analysis: The Russian Military: In Bad Shape? On October 25 Nikolai Mikhailov, first deputy defense minister of the RF (Russian Federation), shocked the international community by his strong statements to the press. At a time when the RF is still in dire economic straits, dependent on Western money for its very survival, Mikhailov warned that his countryís military has enough weaponry to overwhelm any antiballistic-missile system in the US. He warned further that the RF will deploy more nuclear warheads if the U.S. continues its efforts to develop an anti-missile defense system. Mikhailov stated categorically, "This technology can realistically be used and will be used if the United States pushes us to it."

The "New Russia" Is No Friend For the last several years the Russian military has been conducting field exercises for the army, navy, air force, and strategic forces. The largest of these since 1985 was "West-99," a major exercise designed as preparation for war against the US and the other NATO countries. Russian military documents reveal that the US and NATO are considered Russia's "main potential military adversary," requiring the preparation of large-scale military counter-measures.

The Kremlin Sanitarium At tax time in Russia, a couple of years ago, Mr. Yeltsin made a statement on TV that raised more than a few eyebrows, both in Russia and abroad. He said he had been living on potatoes, on a diet of potatoes which he grew at his presidential dacha. It wasn't made clear whether the potatoes had first been fermented or not. But, whichever.

Surprise Nuclear Missile Attack (part 1) In Russian thinking, a nuclear war is not simply an exchange of nuclear strikes. Many countries would be invaded and occupied in the aftermath of a nuclear exchange. Lacking the firepower to strike back, these countries wouldn't dare to resist with conventional forces. In fact, all resistance would be smashed by Russia's reserves of nuclear and biological weapons. A resisting country's administrative centers would immediately suffer obliteration. Biological attacks would depopulate leading cities. Armies would collapse after the bombing of their supply bases. Horrible consequences would follow for millions of people.

Surprise Nuclear Missile Attack (part 2) The greatest danger facing America is a possible nuclear attack from Russia. This danger is not something imaginary. Russian nuclear missiles can reach America in about 30 minutes, reducing America's cities to rubble. Unlike Russia, America has no anti-ballistic missile defenses and no national shelter system. Furthermore, political changes in Russia have not reduced the danger of nuclear war. According to former CIA analyst Peter Vincent Pry, there has been a five-fold increase in nuclear war scares since the collapse of Communism.
